Hello,
I have a Dell Inspiron 6400 using Windows XP Home Edition Sercice Pack 2 operating system. Since last October I have had problems everytime I try to launch/run MSN Messenger, I keep getting error msg saying: Application failed to initialise properly (0xc0000005).
Can anyone please help me to fix this problem? Thank you.

Hello,
After contacting Dell and Microsoft on several ocassions about this problem, I am told that it is an error code associated with Sony Vaio computers. However I am using a Dell. So I have been exploring various Discussion Forums with the hope of solving this problem. One person mentioned that it is not an error code specific to Sony Vaio pc, but it has to do with Sony Software on my pc. So he asked me to check my programs list for a software called Sonic Stage. However all I am seeing is Sonic DLA; onic Record Now; Sonic Copy, Sonic Data and Sonic Update Manager. I am not a PC technical expert, but since last October I have been trying to fix this problem. I have tried all the recommendations that Dell and Microsoft has given, but no luck.
To be quite honest I do not know what is really causing this problem. hence my reason for joining this Forum.

Hi,
Thank you for the explanation, that's made things clear.
SonicStage is the name for Sony software that is used for managing portable devices when they are plugged into a computer running Windows. That's SONY software, and not SONIC, but your confusion is quite understandable.
I'm afraid you will need to look in other forums for possible answers, but I do wish you good luck with that error.
