I am currently evaluating Creator 10 using Windows Vista, Home Premium Build 6000. Knowledgebase (no mention of Vista) tells me that if you pull up a playlist, click on file you can choose "Apply Sound Leveling". I have no such option. Does anyone have a solution to this? Thanks, E. H.

Since you have not posted which EMC 10 version you are using (a download, retail or OEM) its impossible to offer any solution.

Or which of the 30+ apps in the suite you are using. Some more details like that and some info on your pc and probably someone will offer some suggestions.

Again, which of the 35 or so applications are you using? Slightly less than half are video editing, a little less than half are audio related, the remainder are things like back up programs and utilities. If you are on the Home page, what do you click? If you are using the tabs, what tab and what description?

That KB article states that it applies only to "Easy CD & DVD Creator 6 (AudioCentral)" and not to any EMC version nor does it apply to VISTA

Good find Walt. I was wondering which KB article it was, but there's only one that shows up when searched for "Apply Sound Leveling", and like you said, it only applies to the v6 Roxio products, which are not Vista compatible.

So maybe, if E.H. can explain just what he/she is trying to accomplish, someone can offer suggestions for similar functionality in EMC 10.

Possibly Normalization? Roxio 10 home, options, audioCD normalize tracks to a consistent level.

E. H. (old man, computer competence middling at best), may I say that I much appreciate efforts to help. I have a large amount of old (30s, 40s etc.) music. I like to play it from a library for mixing songs, burn CDs, record from old 78s, 33s, etc. Volume leveling (normalizing) has been a huge problem with all the free programs I have tried. I asked for and received Roxio Suite 10 for a gift. There are a good many feature I have liked, but if I could apply leveling to the library using Media Management or whatever I'd be convinced its worthwhile. Thanks, E. H.

For audio files, program uses Maximize volume rather than volume leveling but it is essentially the same. There are two options. If you want to make a CD where all the tracks are the same volume, look at the first image for Music Disc Creator option. If you want the music files on your hard drive to be the same, look at the second picture for Sound Editor. You may want to do this by album for more consistency.
