I can't seem to do anything with this program without getting this error code, if there is a solution from updating I have tried to auto update and that hasn't helped with anything. Any help in figuring out how to fix this issue would be appreciated.

Thanks

You could try updating directx and your video card/chip drivers. BTW, get the video drivers from the maker of your card/chip (like ATI, Nvidia, etc) not thru MS Updates.

After searching all over the place I found out that it has something to do with the encoding process being hindered by some error. It was a previously fixed issue in another version of software roxio put out called "Easy Media Creator 8" I believe, fixed via a downloadable hotfix. I have yet to find a way to get this one fixed. Thanks for the advice larry but after trying that nothing has changed.

I just purchased this product and received the same error.  The only function I can perform is a diskcopy between two drives.  I cannot compile and burn without receiving this error.

I have the same issue despite downloading new video drivers and DirectX (via phone modem!).  Any solution to this issue, otherwise this software is a complete waste of money!!!!!!!

A lot of conversion depends on the graphics sub-system - if your card isn't up to it, the thing just won't work.

That particular error is a graphics one - if updating drivers and DirectX doesn't help, then you need a better graphics card (for a desktop). For laptops, I'm afraid that most 'domestic' ones just can't handle the rendering process
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

I just purchased a new video card to try to fix the same problem and guess what... It's still there. I think Roxio has some serious problems when so many users have 'issues'.

I can't see how you can post to a thread for the first time and claim that 'the problem is still there'

Did you, as advised so many times on this problem:

(a) Update the drivers for the card and
(cool.gif Update DirectX from Microsoft?

You may have bought a better graphics card - but one thing is certain, the drivers are far from 'new' and you have to go to the maker's website and get the latest ones
