Easy Media Creator is certainly a misnomer.  It is anything but easy!!!!!!!!!!!!.  I have made my slideshow at least a dozen times, each time thinking it is right, and then it won't work.  Yesterday I got it to burn onto a CD, but when I went to look at it on the TV, it played some funky music and showed only the first slide.  After all this time, what am I doing wrong now?  Any help would be wonderful.  Thanks  Ella

There is a way to get rid of what you call "funky" music when a DVD you make in EMC 10 starts to play. (Attached)

Thanks.  I'll try that.  You must not agree with my choice of adjective, but I appreciate the help.  Ella

You're welcome Ella. I have no problems with your Funky choice of words. As a matter of fact I think that the default audio that comes on when you play a Roxio DVD is pretty "FUNKY" myself and that's one of the first things I do is get rid of it---LOL

If you used MyDVD to add a menu, then when you play it on TV it will show the menu until you use the remote to click on the button to play the slideshow. There should be a button to do so on the menu (depending on the button style you've chosen this could be text or thumbnail view).

Alternatively,if you don't want a menu but just the slide show, in MyDVD, file, new project click DVD No menus. then add your slide show. When you burn that, the DVD should start the slide show when inserted into the DVD player.

Okay.  Now I have a slide show that plays on a DVD (dvd without menus) took care of that problem.  Now, how do I add music?  Before I went into videowave, I could add sound.  Now that my slide show is in video wave, I don't know how to add music.  In videowave production, there is a place for add audio, but I don't know which next selection to choose.  "Add on music track" says I can't do that at this stage of the production.  If I choose "add on sound effect track", is the music I want going to add on at the end of the one song I now have loaded, or what?  Can you help with that?  Thanks  Ella

Perhaps the video on this page will help. You can add audio to any of the audio tracks except the native track.  It will usually add to the first open space on that track but you can drag it to where you want it.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

Okay.  I've watched your video, which is well done.  Is it supposed to have sound though?  I'm not getting sound.
Tell me what Native track is.  I am going to production, down to add audio.  I click on the songs I want to add, then when it comes time to click on add audio to production, it says "audio cannot be added at this position"

I've gone into where it says native  music, etc.  Music was selected.  Should I be selecting Native?  As you can see, I'm very new to this process, though I usually learn quickly.  I do appreciate your help.  Ella

Hi, Ella

Try this process to add your music rather than clicking the Add Background Audio button:

1.  In Videowave, make sure you are in the timeline view and navigate to the point in the project you want to add the music.

2.  Click View/Media Selector and navigate to the folder where the music you want to add is located.

3.  Click the music you want to add and drag/drop that song onto the music track at the location you want it to start.

See if that works.

BTW - Native audio is the audio included with a video clip.  That is, if you capture video with audio from a camcorder, for example, and then place that video on the video track in Videowave, the associated audio will appear on the "Native" track.  To view the "Native" track, click Show/Hide Tracks and place a check mark in the Native box.  You cannot add background audio to the Native track.  That track is exclusively for audio that is part of a video clip.  You can add background audio to the Music, narration (Nar) or sound effects (Sfx) tracks.

Hope some of that helps

In addition to what Merv says, right after you click on View/Media Selector, and the Media Selector screen comes up, go right back to View, and click on Dock Media Selector.  It will now reside, to the right of your screen, each time you open VideoWave.
