Hello,

I'm using myDVD to create a DVD disc with five mpeg movies.

Each movie is a separate mpeg file.  The DVD burns with no errors.  When I play the DVD, it does not return to the main menu after playing a selection.  Instead, it proceeds directly to the next video and plays through all five before returning to the menu.

Roxio 7 had a setting to force a return to the menu after playing a selection.  The default setting was to play all, but at least it could be changed.

Roxio 8 does not have this setting -- or at least I cannot find it.  Does anyone know where this setting can be located?

Thanks,

Steven.

I asked the same question here. Not sure why there have been no replies.

Well that would be a real shame. Why would they take out something like that? It is a very useful feature.

So how about it moderators and Roxio. Was that feature left out? If it was just say so. Then I can look to other alternatives.  :)

I found the setting for this function.  Unfortunately, for my project, it is not available.  The settings choice for all my movies is "grayed out," so I am not able to change the way the movies behave for reasons unknown -- which is absurd and annoying.

However, here are the instructions buried in Roxio 8's HELP file:

"Select the movie in the Project View area (Movies tab), then choose View > Settings.
The Settings dialog box opens. The dialog box’s Main tab lets you specify what happens when the movie finishes playing."

That's what ggrussell said yesterday morning.

What is the point of your post?

Do you think it was stupid of me to clarify my original question?

I thought it was important to note that the function is provided for in the HELP section, and it is available in the dropdown menus.

It may not work for my project, but perhaps it will for someone else's project.  The point is to be helpful.  Your post was not helpful.

Forgive me if I misread your post.  You did not indicate that you were aware of the function but could not use it in the original post so I did not believe that the last post was a clarification. I was unsure if you had read the post since the new boards are somewhat quirky.

As ggrussell posted those setting are not available in this version.

Hi Guys
Instead of going to Veiw>Settings try Ctrl+r i just tried this and it opened the settings which has 2 tabs first tab is what your looking for which had 3 options (1) Return to last menu. (2) Play next movie in project. (3) Go to.
The second tab allows you to change the projects settings. BTW it also opened the settings when any of the menus were highlighted in project veiw.

awoo87 thanks. But I'm not seeing what you are. Were you using MyDVD 8? By Ctrl+r do you mean hold down Ctrl and then the r key?

Also ggrussell you said "I believe this is yet another V7 feature that is not available in this version." Do you know that to be fact?

I can't access the "Settings" button no matter what view I'm using. If I'm in preview, edit -- nothing seems to work. I've tried Ctrl-r as well but that settings dialog just won't come up for me. any suggestions?
