I HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC TRACE WINDOW OPINING EVERY TIME I START MY COMPUTER. I WENT TO YOU WEB SITE AND IT GAVE ME A SOLUTION ON HOW TO GET IT TO STOP. BUT THE PROBLEM I HAVE IS, IT TELLS ME TO GO TO START AND SELECT ALL PROGRAMS AND THEN CLICK ON SONIC FOLDER. I DON’T HAVE A SONIC FOLDER WITH DLA IN IT. I DO HAVE A ROXIO EASY MEDIA CREATOR 9 FOLDER BUT IT DOES NOT HAVE A DLA FOLDER. I AM RUNNING ROXIO EASY MEDIA CREATOR 9. IS THERE A WAY TO GET IT TO STOP IN EASY MEDIA CREATOR 9? THE FILE FROM YOUR WEB SITE SAYS IT WAS CREATED ON OCT. 2 2006. IS THIS FOR AN OLDER VERSION OF ROXIO? THE WEB PAGE I WENT TO IS: http://kb.roxio.com/content/kb/DLA/000007DL?set-locale=en . THE LITTLE ICON THAT COMES UP WITH THE DIAGNOSTIC WINDOW IS A BLACK AND WHITE SQUAR WITH A BLUE PLUS SIGN. THANKS. ROD

Rod, knock off the caps. This isn't Roxio. This is a users forum. You can contact Roxio directly, by clicking on the Support button, in the upper right portion of your screen.

Drive Letter Access is an early version of Drag2 Disc which has been around since before EMC 7. DLA would be a much earlier program than what you are indicating.
OR
It could be Direct Letter Access which is a HP program. Have you tried looking at their site if you have a HP computer or printer? Since it is indicating a Diagnosis application, I think it may be that program or one similar.

Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

Hello boqua,
Sonic/Roxio [SOXIO??
] has been using parts of their DLA in Roxio's Drag-to-Disc since Sonic absorbed Roxio. It will be these which are causing your problems. However they're not using ssdsetup.exe as mentioned in that KnowledgeBase article, so the KB article is of no use to you.
There is a file in C:\Program Files\Roxio\Drag-to-Disc\Install which seems to be the equivalent of that ssdsetup file. It's called DLADiagSetup.exe, and it looks like a Sonic file 'ported into the application. It's very untidily done - it has a BuildName of BUILD_NAME_WILL_BE_INSERTED_BY BUILD, but it refers to SSDiag.exe (which isn't present) and seems to do the same things as I would expect ssdsetup to do.
May I suggest you do with that file what the knowledgebase article says to do with ssdsetup.exe?
Here's a cut-down version of the KB article I've made, with names changed 'to protect the innocent'
1. Click on Start and select Run
2. Type Command and click on OK
3. Type cd c:\program files\roxio\drag-to-disc\install and press enter.
4. Type dladiagsetup -u and press enter.
5. Type exit and press enter.
6. Restart the computer.
At this point, those windows should no longer pop up.
Please let me know how it works for you. It worked for me when I provoked the fault.
Regards,
Brendon
