Can anyone help? Can't get Cd's to play in car. They worked at first but since reinstall I have not been able to get the Cd's to play in my car. I am using liteon lh20a1h burner with Fuji blanks. I have tried different speeds but have not tried different blanks since they worked to begin with.

Thanks

Bruce Kroencke

I tried to respond in a different thread.
When you make an Audio cd there is really nothing to set up.The disc is automatically closed and if you look at it you should see .cda files.
If both these things happen then the disc should play.I don't know what a reinstall of the software would change.
The only things I can think of are the drive doesn't like recorded discs (which you say you've done before) or doesn't like that particular brand of disc (which you say you've also used before).
Have you tried playing the recorded disc in a different player, say a standalone cd or dvd player or someone else's car?If they work there than it's down to the player in your car and those discs.
"Do you wanna see me crawl across the floor to you?
Do you wanna hear me beg you to take me back?
I'd gladly do it because....."

Not the best idea Bruce to include your email address in any of your posts as there are too many not so nice people out there in cyber space that will harvest your information and use it in ways you wouldn't want. You might want to edit your post and remove or blank out that address. Just a suggestion dry.gif

As Terry said, make sure your discs are playing in your home stereo okay. If they're not, then it's possible something went wrong during the reinstall. Could be a bad .DLL file or something.

The Cd's play in my stand alone CD player. I haven't tried in my TV DVD player yet. I will try in someone else's car and see what happens there. thanks for the quick responses and thanks for the heads up on the email address it maybe too late now.

thanks all i will let you know what happens.

If the CD does play in a player, that indicates it has burned correctly. Some players react differently to R and RW media than they do to commercially pressed discs.

Check the answer to question 16 in this FAQ from cdfreaks -

Well all, I tried in other car CD players and they work fine. I guess something happened to my car unit. I will have to look into another way to fix.

Thanks for all the help. I feel kinda dumb now. Should have figured that out by myself.

Hey... don't feel bad... we all assume our hardware is fine, until we find out it isn't. rolleyes.gif Also, make sure you're using CD-R media which is easier to read, not CD-RW media.
