We take a MPG file, that plays fine with any player we use. And using creator 9 make a DVD, and burn it to disk.

When we take it out of the computer and then put it back in, the auto start fires up and the computer sees the disk as a true DVD, and asks what do we want to play it with.

no matter what we use to play it with it works fine.  "On the computer"

But when we try to play it on any standard DVD player, hooked up to a TV, (have tried three different ones ) all  of them will  not play.

It starts up with the usual "Loading"  screen,,  then a message pops up saying that there is no audio.  And then stops there.  wont even go to a menu screen or anything.

Any suggestions?

Your player may not like the brand of disc.  Some players choke on home made dvd's but there are some things that may help you.  First, check with the manufacturer of your player and use the brand of disc they recommend.  Then, try burning at a slower speed and, instead of burning direct to disc, try burning to an image file first, then use Disc Copier to burn the ISO to disc (at a slower speed).
I had a player that only seemed to work on about half my dvd's no matter what I did.  Sometimes using a store bought dvd for a few minutes then putting in the Roxio made dvd did the trick.  In the end, I got another player and have never had a problem.

Joe, edit out your email adress from your first post.

In EMC 9 Tools find DVDInfo Pro place the disc in the PC drive and open the program. Make sure the drive with the disc in it is showing in the bottom of the window. Now up top click the info button, the information should look like below. The clip board icon top right, if you click it, it will copy the info to the pc clipboard and allows you to paste the info in a post here.
