Like many others here I've been having difficulties transferring shows from my Series 3 to my Mac. In fact, they just didn't work.

This weekend, I was installing a second Series 2 for my kids and realized I forgot to buy a wireless adapter for the new box. I disconnected the wireless adapter for the first Series 2 and plugged into the new box. This one for some reason wouldn't connect to the network and so I left it disconnected for a while.

Later I sat down at my desktop Mac and kicked off Tivo Transfer. It only showed one Tivo connected (the Series 3, of course, since
the two Series 2's were not connected wirelessly) but lo and behold, it started to transfer non-copy-protected movies with no problem. This is a first for me.

There probably are multiple bugs with Tivo Transfer that cause transfers not to work. However, I know for a fact that there is one that crops up when multiple Tivo boxes are on my network, since the show listings get scrambled. Perhaps the two Tivo boxes interfere with each other sufficiently to cause a transfer to fail. It seems that working around this particular bug might help with some - but, no doubt, not all - Tivo Transfer problems.
