The EMC installer would sometimes delete everything in the root folder of the hard drive. When Windows couldn't find NTLDR in the root any more, it would refuse to boot.
P4 @3.20GHz on Albatron PX-865PE Pro II with 2GB DDR-SDRAM, FX5900XT video, Viewsonic monitors,
