hi,

I upgraded from 9 to 10 b/c I was having a hard time burning data DVD's -- but with 10 still have problems...

I drag files to the folder window for the blank DVD (this I do in Win Explorer -- no option in Roxio to burn just DATA DVD's... not even a DVD" option in main menu in Roxio, just "video" as if everything you burn onto a DVD were just videos....)

then when am ready to burn the files to the disk I hit "burn to disc" that's on top of folder window (am on Vista Ultimate..) then I get an alert that I can't burn files to that disc.. to pls erase the disk or insert another blank disk..

now this is a R-W disk; when I try to erase it in Roxio (no "erase" option in Vista when you right-click on DVD in WinExplorer)
Roxio just hangs, it doesn't do anything, so am assuming the disc I have in there is blank already (again, it's a R-W DVD..)

so: what am I doing wrong? what's the best way to burn just a DATA DVD? (no menus, interface, etc..)????
(contents will be just .JPG's -- lots of them -- and only reason am using a DVD instead of a CD is that it's too many photos (about 1.4 GB) to fill in a regular CD..)

thank you..

Open Creator Classic from the list of applications, make your data disc. Use a new unformated DVD -+R.

You could not have looked very hard to find out how to create a data DVD. The help system gives lots of information on how to do this.
Below is a image of how to get to do it

If you use the Data Disc option in your image Walt. It's a Sonic application not Creator Classic, that's why I pointed in that direction.

My image just shows that there are several options available with EMC 10 Suite to burn a data DVD since the OP claimed that there are "no option in Roxio to burn just DATA DVD's"
