Does anyone have an idea on how to retrieve missing features on creator 8? Worked fine last time it was open, now no advanced edit feature. Home screen minimizes and nothing happens. Let me know if this is just normal.

Get rid of Internet Explorer 7 and Windows Media Player 11. They kill EMC 8.

Thanks for the suggestion, however, I am using MP 10 with no updates and Firefox-no explorer. Found Audacity last night, seems to work well. I don't know, I have one heck of a time working with Roxio. Maybe its time to step up to Adobe or something.

Thanks

You might be using Firefox, but did you check to see if Internet Explorer 7 crept into your system? And also, hunt down what changed on your computer since the last time EMC 8 worked.

Also, what program are you using, in the suite?

This is a clean install of XP SP2, month old mobo, must have lost any EMC updates. The version is Roxio Creator 8 Suite Home Version: 3.0.0 Build: 3.0.96B. This is about a year and a half old, does not seem to have any support from Roxio servers. I remember buying it online and Creator 9 came out like a week later. I can't see chasing down remnants of explorer every 2nd wed of the month. If it can't work with XP, I guess I'm done.

The portions of the suite I was attempting to access are Advanced Projects in the Audio tab and Creator Classic. Nether will open.

It works great with Windows XP. You have a version of Internet Explorer on your computer. Which version is it?

BTW, you can put your system specs in your signature, so you won't have to type them each time you post. Above right, click on My Controls, look down on the left side of the screen, and click on Edit Signature. Once you are done entering the information, click on the Update My Signature button.

Surprise, I do have IE7. Its not something I use, but it is there. Do I actually need to remove it, or can EMC8 accommodate? Man is this cumbersome.

Thanks for the help,

Once you roll it back make sure to be careful the next time you run Windows Update. It shows there as a Critical update and you'll get it reinstalled if you have your machine set to do Automatic updates.

All rolled back, Uninstalled and reinstalled. No Advanced projects, creator classic, slideshow.... No updates on this, hard to believe. I am sure I had Audio and DVD program updates at some point. This is no ____ fun anymore. ( I can't believe what was just edited, orthodox?)

Well I have given up on Roxio. I still remember loading EMC5 with the 'fast' (8X) Acer CD burner, and man, life was good. Thanks to all. Still no ____ advanced editor, but Audacity works fine.

Sorry that it did not work out for you. sad.gif I never liked EMC 8 much. EMC 9 and 10 are much better, but there is still no version, that was more user friendly, than EMC 7/7.5.
