A few months ago, I am the one who could not get DAZZLE DVD 90 to work with my laptop with Vista. Since then, changed EMail address, had to reregister, wouldn't let me use old user name, but I am back. I could get a great video, but not sound. After months of watching it lay dead on my desk, I tried one more time - no sound again. So I am now in the market for a new device to download a VCR tape onto my computer. I have Vista (32bit), and I have a REALTEC sound system. I believe this is what was giving me all the trouble. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good converter, that works with Vista, Roxio 9 Delux, and Realtec sound? Would be very grateful for any advice and suggestions on what NOT to buy. Since I had to change my username, I know there's a place to add my computer info for you to see, just can't seem to find it. MK

There were problems during "improvements" that were made to the board…

Click My Controls at the top and Edit Signature at the left to add your info as a signature.

If you tell us your Old User Name, we will be able to locate the old thread and see what has been tried…

You already paid for this device, let's not give up just yet!

Thank you for your help, I did get my computer info updated. My old user name was gmkbdl - new user name gmbdl. Not too clever. My last posting was on 12-5-07 under "Dazle-No signal". I thought I had exhausted all my options. I did just recently download the DVC 90 driver again, but did nothing different. I believe the problem lies with my Realtek Sound system. When I was just now on looking up computer info under dxdiag, I noticed under "sound" Realtek is listed at the default device. Is there a place I can change that only when I am using Dazzle? Will hold off on a new purchase for awhile. thank you so much. MK

Any advice on a good converter that will replace Dazzle - has to work with EMC9 Deluxe and Vista 32 bit. Thanks MK

This is a long shot, but you did download the Vista driver (if not go here http://kb.roxio.com/content/kb/Creator/000137CR ).

Yes, I downloaded everything anyone suggested. I even called and EMailed Pinnacle. Both told me it wasn't their problem and Dazzle is no longer packaged with EMC. Very disappointed, so that is why I am considering a new converter. MK

I know you don't want to hear this but in Vista the Realtek HD audio could be the problem.Others have had trouble getting it working with that sound chip.I have an Audigy 2 and the Dazzle works just fine in both XP and Vista.
You can do a search on Realtek and see some of the other posts about it.
I'm not sure you'll find one that works on that chipset as it may not have inputs that will give you the audio in Vista.
