I have some material on dvd (non copyrighted) which I want to edit. Can I convert this from dvd to avi using roxio? Or do I need dvd to avi or something?

You can convert from DVD to DivX with C&C 3, but you can't edit the resulting AVI with anything in Copy & Convert.
If you will be doing this a lot, rather than re-code from DVD and then compress your video into AVI, you might be better off getting one of the more full-features Roxio applications like Easy Media Creator 10 which will allow you to import the DVD and edit it before it is output again to either DVD or one of a bunch of available filetypes.

I also have video ( non-copywrited) on DVD I want to edit.
Can I use Roxio Easy CD DVD burning to convert a DVD to a wmv file to edit on Windows Movie Maker?
