I downloaded the software for the Dazzle DVC90 video device that came with the Creator 9 software. I connected both a vcr and then a digital video camera through the DVC90 and tried the media import with the same result each time. The picture from the camera or vcr came up in the import window just fine. The capture setting was DVD HQ. The input setting was Composite Video. When I click the “Capture Now” button and it seems to start working it would terminate after 8 seconds on the timer and give me an "unknown capture error" message and nothing was captured. I think I've done everything I needed to do for it to work. This Creator 9 has been a very big disappointment compared with earlier software from Roxio as I have also had audio trouble. I now use other software to capture audio. I did capture successfully with a digital video camera and a firewire connection not through the DVC90. But, I would like to capture analog video from my old camera recordings.

What OS are you running? If it is Vista, you have to go to the Pinnacle site to get the Vista drivers.

From past experience when the capture just stops like that most often it's an audio issue.
Are you getting audio when you look at the preview?
In your post you said you're also having audio trouble. Is that trying to capture audio?
Like Bruce said if you're running Vista this is not an unusual occurance.MAke sure you get those drivers from Pinnacle.Whether it's Vista or XP.
Another thing about Vista is that sound is a difficult thing to get to work sometimes. It really depends on your sound device.
I had the 90 running in v9 in XP and v10 in Vista and it worked just fine in both places.
Now I have the 100 in both places and it works ok also.
I did have the problem you're having originally but found no sound in the preview window.New drivers fixed it.

I am having the exact same problem as the person who started this thread. I have Windows Vista 32 Bit. I downloaded the drivers from the Pinnacle website and the patch from the Dell website (I have a Dell Inspiron 1705) and it still won't work. Any help would be appreciated.

You might want to define "won't work". If it is exactly as the OP's, then the only answers here, are in Post #2 and Post #3.

It records about 8 seconds and then stops with a sign that says "Unknown Capture Error".

I downloaded the Windows Service Pack 1 and now that problem has been fixed. Only now there is no audio at all when I capture.

I was finally able to download Roxio EMC DE 9.1 (had to run as "Typical", not "Complete") and now everything works great.
