Hello community, I'm new to this forum and since the search function didn't brought any answers here is a little question.

DVDit doesn't accept a change of the volume in the audio file. Means I have a complex project with 12 movies, two of them with two languages. During the cross check, I found out, that the sound level is very different. So I've corrected the audio part of the elemtary streams(in the VideoEdit(EDIUS)) and imported them again. Unfortunately DVDit does not recognize the change, so even if the source file volume is changed, the DVDit is "blind" for this change.
I tried to solve this by using *.wav, *.mpa and *.ac3.

I know there is the possibility to adjust the volume in DVDit, but from my point of view this is a botch. Furthermore DVDit uses percent instead of dBfs.

Has anyone an idea, how to overcome this problem without recreating this project?

I suppose, that the ses-folders are responsible for this. Can I delete them and let them recreate, or will my project crash?

I'll appreciate every hint.

Greetings from Bremen, Germany

I would tread carefully in deleting your session files as you can corrupt your entire project.   why don't you lower the audio in your tool and then rename the file before re-importing into DVDit.  then if it creates session files they will be based on the new name of the file.

Ok, just a little feedback. Somehow, I managed to make DVDit to accept the audiolevel, while exchanging the audiotracks(new audio files). DVDit accepted finally the leveled *.mpa's. Unfortunately DVDit complains, that those mpa are not Bluray conform. But the level of my *.ac3 files, which were accepted, was not correct. So from my point  of  view DVDit is a little weak on this sector.

But anyhow thanks for your answer!

Really, audio levels should be done in post production not in authoring, very bad behaviour smile.gif
I suggest you buy SONY Sound Forge 9 and do all of the audio normalization in that first.

YES...I totally agree with you. But my corectly leveled outputs were not accepted (Means *.ac3 2.0). From my point of view it should be equal with which tool the output was generated. I can agree that a dedicated Sound tool allows me better control of the result than my Videoedit application. Nevertheless actually I must create my output with Software I own now.

But please allow me a question. Does SONY Sound Forge 9 allow the exchange with *.aaf files?
