I haven't done a project for a couple of months and now it's like learning from scratch. I'm trying to edit a Jay Leno show so my granddaughter can see Miley Cyrus....but not get the adult stuff. I placed a marker at the beginning of the part I want to delete and another marker at the end of the to-be-deleted portion. VideoWave 9 Help says:

To delete a section of your production between two markers:
Add a marker at the beginning and end of the section to be deleted.
Click the marker at the beginning of the section.
Press Ctrl and click the marker at the end of the section.
On the Timeline marker track, click – (minus).

OK....I did that, but the section is still there. I'm assuming they mean the keyboard CTRL.....I'm not missing a Ctrl in VideoWave, am I? I've tried keeping Ctrl pressed while clicking on the (-) and also tried letting up the Ctrl at different times. I'm pretty sure they mean the - , but I also tried the 3rd button over (trim selected sections) and nothing is working. I thought this would be a quick, easy project and I can't get the commercials and adult stuff removed. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks~

Hi mrsdriver5,

I find the method in this tutorial by sknis to be more efficient than using the markers. You may like to try it out.

In VideoWave, add chapter markers on the timeline at the beginning and end of the unwanted sections by clicking on the + button at the top left. Then click between the two markers to join them. Delete all marked sections using the multi-trim button (just to the right of the + button).

This method works very well for me. dry.gif

I experienced inconsistencies in accuracy using the marker method. I would have to go back and fix the inaccurate splits with the method sknis demonstrates, so it is more efficient (for me) to use that method from the start smile.gif

The description in the Help file in V9 is incorrect.

The method malatekid described will work without a problem.

I have a similar problem to Mrsdriver5 in that I can't "output" the file after deleting the section. I tried the marker method described by malatekid and it worked but couldn't output the file. I then tried the method in the link by karri using the "split" method and that also worked but I was still unable to "output" the new file. In both methods, I get the error "There is no common media type between those pins. What am I doing wrong. Also once I get this error, I am unable to continue. Not locked up, but I have to exit video wave and come back in. I just want to output the video after I have deleted a section. Please help.
Thanks, Robbie
