Hey All,

Trying to watch a transfered tivo file and Toast Video Player crashes on startup everytime.  I have tried launching it standalone with no video as well as running the reinstall.  No luck.  I am running Leopard 10.5.2   Here is the error log:

Hey All,

Trying to watch a transfered tivo file and Toast Video Player crashes on startup everytime.  I have tried launching it standalone with no video as well as running the reinstall.  No luck.  I am running Leopard 10.5.2

I am having this same issue.  Running 10.4.11.  Shows transfer over just fine, but Toast Video Player crashes on startup.  If I try to open the .tivo file in VLC, it gives me error messages "Decoder is leaking pictures, resetting the heap."  Toast Video Player will not start whether I try to just start it by itself from the extras menu, or I try to play a TiVo transfer.

take a look in liburary/quicktime this is what i did to make toast video player work  

  it is because i had mp4vDecoder.component in library/QuickTime.  take a look at quicktime components in previous location. i removed Quicktime folder put it in trash(do not empty trash) and restarted open and closed quicktime. then i started toast video player it start and operated fine then took quicktime folder out of trash and put on desktop, started replacing the components back into library/Quicktime a few at a time restarting toast video player after each time till problem came back then i found out witch one it was. removed the file it worked fine

i am on a mac mini core solo osx 10.4.11 running toast 8.0.4

Thanks!  It turned out to be a Quicktime issue for me as well.  Only for me, it was Divx and/or xvid components in the preferences section that were causing the issues.  I think there were compatibility issues between the Toast Divx drivers, and the other native drivers I had isntalled.  But now everything is working perfectly.

Awesome tip.  Been struggling with this one all day.  Had just updated QuickTime components the night before and suddenly the Tivo Video Player would quit on startup.  Removed the DivX and Xvid QuickTime components to the desktop, retstarted the TVP and everything worked great again.  Put the components back into the folder one at a time.  And it's still working.  Thanks!
