Strewth, I thought i just had to let you all know that I have finally got it to install!!...... Superb!

Wish I could say have got it to run properly though!! glare.gif

No, I know the discs work and had much fun with them yesterday afternoon as i said in my earlier post having got them installled and running on another pc in the family here. (Made Mother's Day in fact by getting 400 of her holiday pics + music + menu onto a slideshow DVD which she watched over and over last night as I understand.....)

So, what did i do here?!............... I used one of the other logical partitions on my main hdd here and installled a dual boot copy of win xp pro. Even managed to rename it in the registry so that I get a maningful choice on boot up.

The reult, a lovely clean XP Pro desktop --------- just the recycle bin in fact! (loaded sp 2 after and do not access internet from this boot)

So I put the emc 9 cd in the drive and off it went, as nice as pie. And the content disk after that too.

Superb and amazing i thought!

So, let's have some fun and create a 20 pic slide show I thought.........(!!!!)

No bloody chance!! ----- Some error with the soundcard driver?????

Please help if any of you good guys can...........I reckon I've done pretty well so far in creating a dual boot system in order to get the prog to load and work, so please help me over what must surely be a tiny hurdle at the end of this course!!!!

I have to say I have downloaded and installed the most up to date drivers for both my vid and snd cards so can't tell what is left to do really, though it must be simple now.............Mustn't it!?!?!?!

Advice very very welcome, thanks!

Nick.

Update......

Yes, I forgot that I had to re-install the MotherBoard drivers for sound and graphics didn't I (they are on the main board not on separate pci cards on my set up)!

Have now done so with the up to date drivers off the net and it seems to be working!!!!!!

I produced a 15 min slideshow with music on DVD last night just fine.

Now I am going for the video editing! -

So far, not so good in that I can't capture from my High Def camcorder (Panasonic HDC-SD5).......When I turn the camera on the PC recognises it as another drive and I can explore it no problems, but EMC doesn't see it. EMC9.0 does capture from a HD camera doesn't it!?!?!? - I thought it did when I checked the specs before I bought the software......

Anyway, am going to search the boards here now for any help on this bit, but if you know of a solution, do tell!!

Thanks, Nick.

Nothing will Capture from a "Drive".

When it comes to "Drives" you copy files.

As to the HD, I doubt it but Gary is one of the few who experimented briefly with it. I am sure he will stop in and explain it, maybe later today.

Thanks, Jim, I'll keep an eye out to see if he drops by.

I will be trying to capture the HD again over this weekend on another machine that I have installed EMC on, though the difference is with that one is that it also has the Panasonic original "drivers" or whatever installed....... my m/c doesn't cos we have lost the blinking discs between that pc and mine!!!!! ----- Unbelieveable I know, but it has happened. The other m/c did capture from the HD cam, albeit using different capture software (that supplied by Panasonic I think) so trying it again now via EMC should give us the answer.

Strewth, wish I'd stuck to Canopus's EZDV now, though at least the slide shows look superb with EMC and I have got myself a dual boot XP pro m/c now with a totally clean second copy of win xp pro on it I guess!!!!
