Title says it all. I click on Settings, then Character 3-D, and have the relevant text highlighted, and nothing happens. It'll let me switch from Text Bevel Straight to Flat to Curve, and the Text Bevel Width slider will let me slide it, but that does not produce 3-D text. Text Outline Bevel and Text Outline Bevel Width remain grayed out and refuse to let me tinker with them.
This is not covered in the Help file. Nor does a Search of the archives here turn up anything, as it will not allow me to search on a less-than-three-character string such as "3D".
So what am I missing?

Sorry, VideoWave.
I tried this in Video Wave in both EMC 9 and EMC 10 and I could not make it to work.
karri is the expert on things like this. Perhaps she has some ideas.

In VW, click on Add Text Effect and click on one. Click OK. Select the text (highlight it) in the Preview Window and, in the Settings Panel, apply whatever formatting you want (font, color, size, etc.) Add a Frame if you want (background for your text).
Click on the 3D icon (cube with an A on it) and adjust the Character 3-D settings using the drop down list to try Straight or Curved. (Flat tends to be, well, flat.) Some of the changes are very subtle, so test by moving the sliders all the way to the left and right to view the types of effects you can get. Try it on the Frame (if applicable) and adjust the Lighting and surfaces sliders. The first time you experiment, you might want to make your text unusually large so that you can get a better idea of the changes that are taking place as you adjust the sliders.
