Since I'm a newbie so I need some very easy steps to accomplish this project. I want to copy and burn a DVD to DivX and opened DivX DVDs and the properties displayed are:
16 chapters
4482 MB
Content Quality Identical to Original is Bolded at the bottom.
What do I do from here?

If you want to convert to divx, under the Format tab, choose 'Divx'. You can then choose Options to somewhat tweak the encode if you wish. Then choose either to output to disc, image or folder. I suggest the image or folder as burning direct to disc is problematic for some. Once the image or folder is complete you can test the file to make sure it's what you want, then use Video Copy and Convert to burn that to disc.

I understand the context but I guess I'm missing something. When I open
DivX DVDs and click DVD Video Copy there is no Format tab just a DESTINATION where there is the choice of Disc Image or Folder to Save As , but nowhere is there a format choice only Write Speed and Number of copies shows up. Am I missing some steps? Like I said I am really unfamiliar with the process.

Do your VC&C screen not look like this.?
Can you post a screen shot of yours? You can use ImageShcack to post your screen shot. If you don't have a screen capture program, you can download a free one here.

I was under the Video Copy Tab and not Compliation. After inserting the DVD it began " Caching Title " which took about 45 minutes to complete. Now My screen looks like your screenshot.
The information in the Source Box reads:
E: Movie
Audio Languages Default
Playtime 71min 50 sec
E:/Video_TS
Now that I've selected DivX from the Format drop down and Burn is visible what is the next step?
Under Options Summary are several formats listed:
DivX:DivXDisc,AudioFormat:MP3,ScreenAdaptationLetterbox,Framerate:29.97fps This of course I am clueless about and want to get this right.
What should be checked in the Options Box? ( BTW I really appreciate your help. )

You can simply choose the output tab and select burn but you should get a better quality (also read as longer time needed) if you select 'Use Two Pass Encoding' in the Options box. Once you click burn, my humble opinion is to uncheck the drive box(es) and choose to burn to an image file. Select the location where you want the image saved, remember it for later and click 'Burn'. When finished you can then check the ISO (image file) you've made to see if it meets your approval before burning to disc.
