I bought DVDit Pro HD last week using the ESD option and have run into many problems with it.

It has crashed on me during startup, during use, and during shutdown. It has even refused to load and told me that the program is already in use by another user on the system (there aren't any).

But by far the worst problem I have encountered is that I have now twice lost a project that I had been working on. I'm not talking about losing a little bit of work because of a crash where I have to redo whatever work I had done since the last save, but where the project no longer loads at all. When I try to open the project, DVDit Pro HD goes through the motions of loading the assets, and then it presents me with an EMPTY project called "Untitled1", "Untitled2" and so forth with a new name for every attempt to load my work. There are no error messages and no indication that there were problems, but none of my work is there. It seems that DVDit Pro HD is corrupting the project during a save operation.

I also tried the "New from Existing" option to create a new project from the one that won't load, no dice.

I'm extremely frustrated at the moment and tempted to demand my money back. Is there anything you guys can think of that I'm missing?

the crashes you describe are definitely not the norm. what is the system you are running this on? what else is on that system?

as to the loss of data...where are your project assets? on an external drive that DVDit has somehow lost contact with?

It's a fully patched Windows XP SP2 system with 2GB of RAM and a non-overclocked 3.2GHz P4D 840EE. The files are on an internal SATA RAID1 array. My system is completely stable and doesn't crash or corrupt files. I use it for a lot of video editing and transcoding.

When I posted my message last night I was stll in DVDit Pro HD. When I quit, I got an error dialog saying that an address could not be written to, and guess what? My project is corrupt again and won't load. This is really ticking me off! mad.gif
