This may have been covered elsewhere, but the search gave me 1,000 results, so...

Anyway, my question is: Is there a commercial license available that permits the use of transitions and effects in a film that would otherwise be legally released without the noncommercial aspect of EMC? Between DIVx and Windows Media Video files, both are easy enough to license (especially WMV). I love EMC because it works, and is easier to use than Nero in most ways. However, Nero has no limits on using your own licensed CODECs. If I understand the EULA of EMC, however, I cannot use it for any commercial purpose. I'm not out to distribute illegal content (I created it, and the copyright is mine alone), so why this restriction? Thank you for your time.

Try contacting Roxio -

If they tell you that all support for V.7/7.5 is ended, you can draw your own conclusions.
