I have a HP a 1700n 64x2 dual core Processor 3800 2.00 GHz running Vista. I put together a video/slideshow project with videowave.  I go to the burning program set up the project and when I hit the burn button in MyDVD, a window flashes on the screen and disappears and nothing happens. Same thing in MyDVD Express. I tried the suggestions from Roxann to no avail. Looking for help.

What video card do you have?  Have you updated the drivers?  Set the card/chip to best performance, set the anisotropic filtering and anti-aliasing to software controlled.  Google for those terms if you wish; you find some technical jargon that I don't quite understand but changing those setting will help fix the problem.

In Video Wave, go to the top menu, select tools, then options and then put a dot near software.  That will change it in MyDVD also and should stop the crashing.  Note that any 3D transitions you used will be a problem so that's why I suggested making the change in Video Wave.

Oops I just realized that I posted to a thread that is almost a week old and the OP never came back to answer malatekid.  Too bad that the OP will not read my brilliant solution (which is posted frequently).  tongue.gif

I got the info and will try it. Thanks. I forgot to mention that when I try to burn a project, the burn dialog box that is supposed to open, flashes, then disappears.

I have an nvidia video card. I updated the drivers but it said they were up to date. everything is at best performance, switched dot to software still not working. It previews fine but when I try to burn the burn dialog box flashes then disappears.

Will I lose my projects if I re-install? Is the clean install as complicated as it sounds or is it pretty straight forward? I appreciate your help.

If the clean install tells you to delete the default folders where your current project is, then yes, you will loose them. Move them and put them back! If you can follow directions you should be OK.

The only thing I cannot delete is a Virtual drive 10 file. It keeps saying I do not have permission to do so. I tried going to properties, and security to gain access but to no avail. Does it have to be gone?

Actually there are a bunch of files I cannot delete because I don't have permission. What do I have to do to change this?

Here's a few things to try.
http://www.computerperformance.co.uk/vista...or_activate.htm
Also, I've had a few files in Vista that nothing would delete and Unlocker would.  Be warned, once gone, you'll never see it again.  Sometimes however, even that doesn't work so I've had to disable all startup items, reboot into safe mode and delete the files that way.

I've done a clean install and re-install. Same problem is happening. Try to burn a project and the burn dialog box flashes then disappears. I'm frustrated and ticked off. I don't know if it's EMC10 or Vista or both. I guess I'm gonna try another video editing software. What a giant pain in the ass this was!! angry.gif
