Why Cant I View The Dvd On My Big Screen? Cineplayer 2.3 blocked from additional screen

I can't view the dvds in my windows media player when using our large TV screen.
When watching from the lap top the dvds play fine. Does anyone now why?
The media player is ver 11.0 and the os is xp pro . The cineplayer is 2.3.
Thanks to anyone who knows about this.
