Hi.
I recently got a Dell laptop which came with Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 DE. My friend bought a Dell laptop even more recently and his came with version 10.1 DE. However, in his Roxio 10.1 DE, he does not have photo and video burning tools. Are they meant to be left out of the DE version of Roxio 10, or is something wrong? On my Roxio 9 DE that I got with my Dell laptop, I had photo and video tools. So what can he do to get full functionality that should have already come with his laptop?

This is what his Roxio 10.1 DE looks like:

And this is what it should look like (according to a quick search on Google Images):

As you can see down the left side in the bottom one, there  are photo and  video buttons.
Thanks.  unsure.gif

We know nothing about these custom OEM packages…

You can ask Dell, but in the end if it is there, it is included, if it isn't there, it is not!

And if you are doing any real work with the programs you will dump the junk and buy a full Retail version.

You are assuming that Dell has the same contract/licensing as they did with Version 9.  I would say those features were left out for a reason and are not supposed to be there.  We have pointed out many times in the forum that OEM version are not complete.  It's a form of advertising. More like a trial version.  As Jim points out if you want full functioning EMC Suite, you will have to purchase the Retail version.  Contact Roxio customer. Perhaps they have a special upgrade price for Dell users.

Interesting if he has 10.1 DE - Soxio hasn't released any 10.1 retail version.
