Toast Crashes When I Plug In A Camera

Ever since I upgraded to MacOS10.4, I had some problems with using my Canon Optura 300 digital video camera. Toast crashes when I plug in the camera through firewie. I wanted to do Plug&Burn video directly to DVD, but Toast keeps cahsing as long as the camera is connected.
I guess I have to import thru iMovie until i figure this out but I wanted to save time since i dont want to keep the video on my Mac. Thanks.
