When purchasing my new Mac I asked what do I need to convert DvD movies in order to put on my iPod. I was told to use Crunch and now having purchased Crunch, every time I try a DvD I get the message DVD is encrypted - DVD encryption is not included in software. I understand that Crunch does not support hollywood style purchased movies so have I wasted my money? or is there something else I can do? Any suggstions please?

I need to tread gently in response. I'm not a fan of Crunch compared with Roxio's other applications: Popcorn 3 and Toast 9 which are newer and have more capabilities (such as support for ElGato's Turbo.264 hardware encoder). I wish that the person who sold you Crunch was better informed and/or more forthcoming. That person also might have told you where to find information regarding converting and copying commercial DVDs. That information is available on the Web but we cannot discuss it in Roxio's forums.
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!
