Hi guys,

Just bought EMC8 as an upgrade to version 7 and am having many problems with it! hope someone on here can help as Roxio support appears to be somewhat useless!!!

The main program starts up ok but:-

1. When I try and start up photosuite it crashs all the time, any ideas?

2. When I try and go into making a slideshow or creating a DVD the screen goes blank and then reverts back to the main menu?

3. When I first installed EMC8 I managed to get into making a slideshow and DVD but for some reason I could not create anything due to having no preview, all that was there was a black screen so unable to do any work at all! not that this will matter much now as the programs don't seem to run anyway!

My system spec is:

Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158)
Intel® Celeron® M processor 1.40GHz
512MB RAM
DirectX Version 9c

Any help from you guys is appreciated

Robert

EMC8 uses the video subsystem much more extensively than previous versions. What video card do you have? Is it integrated on the motherboard? You can try updating the video drivers to see if that helps. Although you're CPU is on the lower side of system requirements, a good video card would help.  There are several for under $50 that are much better than integrated chipsets.
Phenom X4 965 3.4Ghz, 4gig DDR3, LG 47" 3D TV, Hitachi 1TB HD, Seagate 500GB, LiteOn iHBS112 Bluray, TSSTCorp SH-222A DVD, ATI HD3300 IGP, VIA HiDef audio with Logitech Z5500 THX certified 5.1 speakers, Epson 4490 scanner, Canon 9000Pro MarkII printer, Sharp AL1551CS laser printer/copier, Sony TRV740 8mm digital, Canon HV20 HDV camcorder and Fuji S7000 for still photos, Win7 Home Premium
---------
System 2: HP DV7 laptop, Turion II Dual Core 2.4Ghz, 4GB RAM, 640GB hard drive, ATI Mobility HD4650, ATI HiDef Audio, Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.

Many thanks for your reply, my graphics card is actually a chip, SIS M166MX which as proven to be very good esp with games and other software that say they require higher processors! as I have a laptop system and am unable to upgrade it! guess that means that I am unable to use EMC8 features!

Think it's time I arranged a refund on this peace of software

Again, many thanks

Robert

Update the drivers for the video chips first.  Either from the computer manufacturer's web site or from the SIS web site. Here

In the future, please list your computer specs so we don't provide information not applicable to your device.  For convenience, please add your computer specs to you signature.  Go to My Controls (above) and select signature on the left hand side.  Saves a lot of typing and questions about your hardware.
