My Easy Media 9 is working OK until I close the program, and then try to re-open it.
I hit the Icon to open the home page and nothing happens. The only way I can get it
to re-open is to shut down and reboot. This just started , the program had been working
fine for over a year.

Did you add anything new to the computer before this happened? (even MS updates?)

If you removed the suite and re-installed it that could be the problem (bits left over from the previous installation can mess things up). Uninstall and re-install following the instructions here

I did the list of things. I think I got all of them covered. The home page opened, but when I closed the page,
it still does not want to reopen. I'm going back and dump some more of those windows updates and see
what happens.  Thanks

Looks like I'm getting in deeper here as I go. I decided to loadload media 10. After I took 9 out and started to install 10.
Funny things started to happen. 10 unzipped the files. Then Norton Add-on started to re-download in it's own window.

I stopped that window and the install box for media 10 backed it's self out , then closed.  Has anyone else  had problems
with Norton's 360 ?

I unloaded Norton's, and 10 would not load. Went back and found I had not unloaded their Live Upate part.

I got rid of the live update, and tried 10 install again. media 10 loaded and it's  opening and closing like clockwork.

I went back and installed Norton Internet Securty.  Media 10 is opening and working fine. I suppect it may have been the Norton 360. I ran Media 9 over a year with Norton Internet Sercurty and had no problems. I was pleased Media 9 ran extremely well , no lock ups during that time.

Thanks for the Help

I'm not sure why no one has mentioed it; perhaps Norton fixed it.  Search this site for a registry item that Norton's One Button (actually registry cleaner) deletes.  That has given other people problems.

That causes the program not to open but that would be after the registry cleaner ran; not what you were experiencing.

Sknis,

Brittonsneck couldn't get the Roxio EMC 10 program installed because of Norton 360 interfering with it.

Here is  Brendons post on One Button Checkup... skins is referring to.
