Hey there,
I got a weird one, I searched the forums and I could not for the life of me find out why or how to rectify this situation. I checked all the support docs but I just cant find it. Hopefully some of you can help me.
I'm a support representative for a large company and we have multiple systems in the field that cannot burn but the drive is fine. We have come to the conclusion that for some strange reason the drive properties are different based on user?!?
If you open Creator classic and go to Disc and Device Utility and expand the Drive Properties for the device it will give what the drive can and cannot do, denoted by check mark or X. Well using our default user account on some systems some of the capabilities of the drive have X's. If you log into a different account, such as our admin account. All of the capabilities are shown. Is there some setting in roxio config, or something I can do to make the roxio software pull the right information.
You can insert a disk, it says it is a blank recordable disk, but when you hit burn it says that I need to input a disk. I've tried 3 different brands from 3 different batches of CD's. This happens on DVD's as well.
Windows XP SP1
Any help would be greatly appreciated

You would need to set anyone wanting to use the suite to admin - that's a requirement I'm afraid

Weird, it works under the normal user account just fine on thousands of other computes. Just not some select few. I didnt know if there was a registry entry or something along those lines that can be changed to properly update the way Roxio reads the drive's capabilities. Hmm.. anyway, thanks!
Anyone else have any ideas?

You may have to set it up for different users - that's a windows thing.
I remember seeing a box one time with two users and where the boss could use Office in his accouint, his secretary couldn't use it in hers. It took a second install in her name to get it to work.
You could try it that way and see what happens
