I recently replaced my Graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce FX5200) and now have lost my ability to separate Native Audio from video as well as a number of other things. My system is Windows XP. Unfortunately, the one I replaced allowed me full capability -- and I don't know what it was. PLease help.

Did you replace what you had with the FX 5200 or was that what was in your computer. Your post was a little confusing.
Why did you replace the other card? What other problem things ? That 5200 is an old card (2002 ?). It was the first of the kind to support DirectX 9 and may not be able to be fully compatible with the latest version of DirectX 9c.
I'm not sure why a graphics card change would affect the extraction of audio from a video. Perhaps the drivers for your audio card were corrupted. Look for updates and replace the audio card drivers regardless of driver updates.
Did you install the latest drivers for that card (here)?

Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.
