I have 9.0 version and after copying something on a DVD-R from a LG DVD recorder on a Memorex DVD disc, I try to copy it to my harddrive using Roxio's DVD copier and I can see the icon of the show just fine, but when I try to add it, I get and error that says that the program encountered a problem and must shut down. Why is it doing this?

Memorex is perhaps just a half step up from no name brand discs. Have you been successful before or have you tried another brand of disc.
I'm going to guess that you are trying to copy something you recorded from a TV? It may have been a protected broadcast. They won't copy.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

Still, you should not be getting any error messages and having a program close. Try going into the Control Panel – Add/Remove Programs, select Roxio and then select Repair.
If you are using 'dash' media, make sure your Recorder is not formatting it to VR or if does, that you Finalize or Close when you remove it from the Recorder.
Otherwise everything Steve said is correct.

Don't know, we ask the questions that will lead to an answer and you keep telling us …my car won't start.
Maybe if you go back and answer what was asked we can help?

I tried repairing. Didn't do anything. Tech support recommended copying the video file to my desktop and burning it that way, and it didn't work. Now I'm getting "Unspecified Error 0x080004005" They recommended trying updating DirectX system, Video drivers and switch to software mode all of which I've done, so now I'm sending them my system information.

If you are working with Support and they are helping you, then wait for an answer from them. If that answer doesn't work, then come back here and give us full details including posting your computer specs in your signature via "My Controls."
Don't try to get answers from two sources at once or you (and we) will get frustrated.
