Since my previous thread was prematurely closed after persons here wrongly accused the seller of impropriety and thereby implied I had an illegitimate copy of EMC Deluxe Suite 9 and was not entitled to support, I am posting my final thoughts here.
First, I am offended by and resent the implications of impropriety contained in the replies to my request for help. It seems to me that the mere mention of an eBay seller as the source of my product, triggered an auto-response, strike that, an attack on the seller and thereby on me, as the buyer / customer of a new, never before registered Roxio product.
Second, the replies suggest there is an "approved reseller" list for Roxio products. Searching the Roxio web site however, turns up no such list that a seller might use to determine the 'approved' status of a reseller. While there is a "How to Buy" page, there is no warning that purchasing Roxio software from any other source invalidates the product warranty or forfeits the customer's right to support from Roxio.
Searching on terms such as "approved seller", "authorized dealer", etc., brings up no matches on the Roxio site. Obviously then, the support personnel here are spouting policy that is not clearly and explicitly disclosed to potential customers in advance of purchase on the Roxio web site.
Third, I'd have been happy to provide my serial numbers to designated support personnel here to verify my EMC9DLX set is new and previously unregistered. But such was not asked of me, only unwarranted conjecture and casting aspersions in order to justify closing the help thread with a minimum of effort.
This experience has given me a very negative impression of Roxio.
Let the buyer beware.
Jack
PS - note to Grandpa - some people, myself included, take offense to a stranger calling them "dude". It is disrespectful. You are welcome to 'ban' me, I won't be seeking support nor posting here again.

If you bought a car from a dealer - would you then expect to be able to drive to Detroit and demand a replacement at the factory gates?
