What happened to Drag to Disc? I uninstalled 9 and installed 10 and it is gone. I don't see any reference to it anywhere.

Thanks,
Don

Version 10 is the Vista certified version of the Roxio EMC product. Vista has packet writing software  built into the operating system. So D2D was not included in V10!

No reference for what isn't there… Gone like a freight train…  laugh.gif

EMC 10 is intended for Vista, and Vista has a packet writer built into its' OS.

You can Custom Install D2D from V9 but you might be better served changing over to the more reliable Authoring and use Sessions to add more data…

Well Vista may have Packets but it is not writing discs that can be read in other versions of Windows. I have been burning discs for clients and they can't open/read them. 9 had problems with Vista so I thought going to 10 would solve them but apparently not. Any ideas on how to track down Vista packet problems?

Thanks,
Don

It could be the version of UDF that Vista is defaulting to..there are different UDF options.

I do not believe Vista can 'write' to prior versions but it should have not trouble 'reading' them.

I don't have Vista, so I can't experiment with compatibility issues but I know do know this…

The discs I Authored 11 years ago (ECD V3) are fully compatible today! But Packet Writing compatibility has been spotty at best…

Brendon has both Vista and several versions of EMC on hand. Perhaps he has done some compatibility testing (or will?  huh.gif  ) and will chime in here. I think it is after midnight tomorrow where he is, so check in from time to time this weekend.

In Classic (Authoring) you can add to an existing disc by not setting it to Read Only.

Now you have to use Classic to add more and you cannot "delete" or recover any space.

While not as simple as packet writing, it is 100% rock solid and since the format for CD/DVD's has not changed, it remains compatible.
