Blue Green Line Down The "my Menu" When Burning A Dvd Blue green line

I am burning a DVD using "Create DVD" in Roxio number 9's program. The "MY MENU" page always has blue-green-yellow lines right down the middle of the screen. It doesn't affect the quality of the movie so far, but today, while burning a movie, I get a blue line down the middle of the movie. The movie, when I play it in Windows Media Player, doesn't have a blue line down it. I have uninstalled Roxio 9 and reinstalled it, but the same movie has a blue line, and I still have the green-yellow-blue lines in My MENU screen.
Does anyone know why I have a messed up MY MENU page, or what is causing the blue line in the middle of the movie, when I am recording it?
Thanks in advance.

It could be more than one thing. First, update the drivers for your video card. If that doesn't work, try software rendering.

How do I update the drivers for my video card? I get all the 'windows updates.'
I went to "properties" on my desktop and checked the 'settings' and it only mentions a 'plug and play monitor.' I have a laptop, dell media xp.

I have G-spot that I use to 'check' my videos before burning. I tried that on the file and it didn't affect it any (the blue line is still there).
Thanks for responding, though.

Windows doesn't update your video card. If there is an update, through Windows, it is old. Go to the video card manufacutrer's website, download it, and follow their instructions for installing.

In XP right click the desktop click properties, click the settings tab, click the advanced button at the bottom, now click the adapter tab at the top. Your video card info should be listed there.

Go to (Windows) Start>Run.>Type in dxdiag >select OK> Go to the Display tab. On the left side will be your video information; on the right, will be the driver ID, Version and Date.

Go to Dell web site (link) to update evrything on your computer including the video "chip". You probably do not have a stand alone video card. If you would have given us the model number, we could have helped you find the updates.

Model number of the computer rolleyes.gif; not of the chip.

Thanks for clarifing my comment though. Sblackheart may have read it the same as you. (or I was reading the posts thinking that (s)he was looking for the video card model.

It is also confusing since the OP originally stated that the Op had a Dell Laptop but then later refered to "desk top". I think the OP was refering to the Windows Desktop Screen.

Go to Intel's website, and look to see if there are updated drivers for that chipset. Some video chipsets in laptops, can't handle the software.

To help re: your issue, here is some reading, including a problem similar to yours:

Search Result for your laptop.

Similar issue.

All about drivers
Upgrading the video chip

I think your 1705 comes with two different names so I could not find the specific driver for your laptop. You can log on and put in your service number and it will give you the options or you can have a Dell program scan your computer to find the drivers. Make sure you follow all the instructions.

OOPs it's a 945 GM.
Now I've reinstalled the driver from my CD. I downloaded the file from Intel but the setup mode has an error when I try to install! mad.gif What's up with that? It says that the file must come from the Manufacturer! It does, so I don't know why I get the error!? CRAZY. HEre is the message I get: The driver being installed is not validated for this computer.
Just from the CD though, it hasn't affected the blue-green lines down My MENU on Roxio.

That chip set is used on both desk tops and laptops. The laptop manufacturer modified the chip set to work with the power settings of the laptop computer. Because of that you must download any updated drivers from the computer manufacturer's web site.

That's why I posted all the Dell information. huh.gif

OK, so my computer crashed again and had to do another re-install of all my media drivers. I still have the line down the "MY MENU" page, and it's burning that way on the actual DVDs that I'm burning. It's rather annoying to watch a movie with a green line down the center. Any other advice?
Thanks!
