I have transferred my phone videos to my SD memory card and need to figure out how to convert the video to DVD.  When I bought EMC 10 I was told it can be done, but haven't figured out how to do it and need help!!!!!  Thanks!

Use Windows Explorer to copy the video from the SD card to a folder on your PC. If the video format is one that EMC 10 recognizes, then add the clip using "Add Photo/Video" in Videowave or myDVD.

I can see the files on my flix but when I try to add photo/video on VideoWave, it says "There are no media files in this folder that match the filter settings.  To change the filter settings, click the filter for Media Types button."  However, I don't know where the filter for Media Types button is.

Have you copied the files to your PC? What extension do they have?

Below is a picture showing where you find the button. You can also add the files via the Add Video/Photos option in the Add Content panel on the left side of the screen

The files are on my C: drive.  If I understand what an extension is, they are listed as Zip files, 3G2 files and BLT files.  Is that what you were asking?

I've looked for the Filter for Media Types button and it doesn't seem to be there!  I don't know if I just don't see it, or it really isn't there.

A zip file is not a media file per se and it would not have come off your phone.  The 3g2 file (link) is probably the video.  BLT is a file extension associated with Wordperfect for DOS (?) or AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) Saved Buddy List File

Look here and change if you need to. (Click the text at the top to expand the window)

Ok, so I opened up MyDVD, clicked to add the photo/video and put in "my_flix" under the folder name and changed the "files of type" box, trying them all, but none of them would allow me to open the my_flix folder even though the "add box" changed from grey to black.  It still says there are no media files in this folder that match the filter settings, and I still don't have the "filter for media types" button on the screen where it is shown in your example.

Can you play the 3G2 file using one of your video players? Make a copy of one of the 3G2 files and then change the extension to 3gp and see if EMC will see it.

I can play the 3G2 file with QuickTime and I copied it, but can't find the copy to change the extension to 3gp.  The Save or Save As buttons are grey so they can't be pressed.

I don't understand what you mean by "The Save or Save As buttons are grey so they can't be pressed."? They don't come into play at all here.

How did you make a copy? Have you done a search on your system for the filename? That should find it.

Are you working in Videowave? That is really where you should be working if you are trying to edit a video. Can you add the file using the Add Photo/Video option? If not what happens?

Video Wave finally responded after I restarted my computer and renaming the 3G2 files to 3gp worked!  Thank you so much for your help!  I never would have figured it out if it wasn't for you!

Glad we were finally able to sort things out. From a google search I found out that 3G2 are the same as 3GP files. BTW, do you really have some zip and blt files on your SD card? In what device are you using that card?

Actually, I very often power down my system before starting video work especially a burn. I find it "cleans" a lot of garbage out. A frequent defrag of the hard drive is also recommended

The blt files came with the 3G2 files when I inserted the SD card into my computer.  The zip files came only after I copied and renamed them to try and get EMC to recognize the video.  I use the card in my LG picture and video cell phone.  Thanks again for your help...it is much appreciated!

So I got the videos onto Video Wave and burnt the DVD but there's no sound!  I checked the volume on Video Wave and it's turned all the way to 6 db which seems to be the max volume, but no luck!  I was wondering if it could possibly be the SD card, but when I put the SD card in my phone, I can hear the sound...also when I play the videos on QuickTime there is sound.  Do you know what I might be able to do to fix this?

Download and run gspot on that video file on your computer.  What type of audio codec does it say the video has?  Does it say you have the right codec?

Were you able to hear the audio in Video Wave?  If not, then you might want to download the trial of Goldwave.  Add that file and then save the audio of that file as a wav file.  Add that wav audio file onto one of the audio tracks in Video Wave (mute the native audio audio track) and then output that.  You should be able to burn that using My DVD.

You seem to be jumping around a bit so it is hard to follow exactly what you are doing.  If you used video wave and didn't hear the audio, didn't that interest you?  How did you burn that file to a DVD  as a file or as a movie using My DVD?
