Media Selector Inoperative

I am using EMC 9 for quite a while no problem to speak of. When using Video Wave or My Dvd etc I can not now activate the Media Selector function. I am using the Background Selector function instead but there are disadvantages. I have used the "repair" function with no result any ideas?
