I am saving an image of a DVD. Size on disk is 4.2GB. But when I attempt to burn the image to a blank I find the total file sizes of the .gi files to be almost 8GB, and of course receive an error and the blank is ejected. I've tried setting options to get rid of trailers and such but no luck. Is it common for the GI files to be almost double the original size?

I feel like there's something going on. Earlier I saved two images in the neighborhood of about 7GB and those GI files came out to the exactly the same size, 15,032,157,944 bytes. That seems pretty unlikely.

Any ideas? Some setting I'm missing?

Thanks in advance.

Is the 4.2 GB file the original file size (before rendering)?

If so, forget file sizes and think time. One hour video is one DVD at best quality (2 hours for a dual layer)
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed
