I need to transfer AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS to DVD and I bought Roxio because of Drag-n-drop - bu it is not so easy.
Each time I'm getting error on the end : "Failed to prepare media for CD-ROM or DVD-ROM compatibility".
The tech from Roxio suggested to do Save Image but it doesn't work because they are files.
How do I make DVD that plays on the DVD player ?

thanks

You can't use Drag to Disc to make a playable DVD.  It's packet writing software, and does not have the capability of burning as a DVD movie compliance.  Use Disc Copier to do burn it to a DVD.

Packet writing is useless, IMHO.  It is good for immediate transfer of data, from one computer to another.

How should I do that - sorry, a dumb question but I'm lost in this.
I go to COPY and there are 3 options ( Copy Disc, Burn Image, and Save Image) and none of them allows to transfer a file from hard drive.
Can you give me step by step instructions
thanks

Wadimaya,

There are two copiers in EMC9, and it sounds like you are trying to use the "differently-abled" Sonic one. If you have EMC 9, you will have Roxio Disc Copier. You reach that from the Home menu by selecting Copy > Copy DVD Movies.

Make sure that the CD & DVD Copy tab is selected, and on the Source side of the page, click the downarrow alongside the box which shows your disc drive. It should pulldown and allow you to choose "Browse for Disc Image/DVD-Video Folder"

copier.JPG

Click on "Browse", and navigate to the folder which contains your VOBs and IFOs, the Video_TS one. You can ignore the Audio_TS folder if you have one. Select that folder, and click OK.

Make sure that the Destination side shows your burner, insert a blank disc, and click "Copy Now" and you should be away laughing.

Regards,
Brendon

Are you talking about Roxio Easy CD and DVD Burning, Version: 9.0.554, Build: 905B54T, R01 ?

When I click on HOME, the options are: WELCOME, APPLICATIONS, RESOURCES.
In Applications there is MyDVD Express, when I click on it a new window opens.
There is a button ADD NEW MOVE, but again it doesn't have option to add a file.

If this Version of Roxio doesn't have this capability, do they have something to download which allows me to
copy the video files?

If not do you know any downloads with this capabilities of copying TS files (free would be good, somehow I'm not in a hurry to pay again)

Thank you for all the help.

When I click on File -> New Project -> Copy it gives following options : Copy a Disc, Burn an Image and Save an Image.
Again no use.

As I said in my last post, and Brendon confirmed, use Disc Copier.  It should work quite well for you.  But, if your version came with a computer or DVD burner, it is a stripped down version and does not have the functions of the full suite.  It would appear that you may have that type of OEM software.  Where did you get the software?

List what you see when you click on the Applications icon.  Disc Copier should be the 2nd one down, under Applications.

No, we're not.

We are talking about Easy Media Creator 9, otherwise known as EMC 9. This topic was posted in the EMC 9 forum.

You have Easy CD and DVD Burning [Red Box] , which is a cut-down version and has its own forum - to where the topic has now been shifted.

Easy Media Creator 9 will do what you are wanting, but Easy CD and DVD Burning [Red Box] won't, because it's a 'Limited Ability' suite.

It has never been made clear (to me) what it is you are actually trying to do???

If it is to copy a DVD Movie it can be done even with the Red Box version, provided it is not a commercial movie or has any copy protection on it.

Please define your needs before I go through all of the steps.  unsure.gif

He's trying to make a Video DVD from a folder, Jim.

It can't be done properly with the Red Box software. He'd be better off using ImgBurn, which is a free download from http://www.imgburn.com/

An existing VIDEO_TS folder can be burned 'properly' all day long with the Red Box…

That is why I asked the OP to confirm that, that is what he wants to do.

THANK YOU ALL !!! biggrin.gif
I downloaded IMGBurn and it works great.

Too bad that Roxio doesn't make clear on their product that they sell abbreviated version.

Just to make clear, all my files are legal and they were never copy protected.

Thank you again for help.

You bought a product that cost $30 when the full version costs $100! What did you think the $70 difference was all about???

At any rate if you have a VIDEO_TS folder, you simply chose data and burn it.
