Hi everyone,

1) When I burn a DVD all goes perfectly, but then it just stops at 15% when finalising. Firmware is up to date, as is the DVD driver. I'm working on an HP Pavillion Media Centre bundle, OS XP, DVD: TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H653L. I've tried HP support, but no luck and keep missing Roxio support.

2) Sometimes when I'm attempting a burn I land up with it playing whatever the movie is in full screen. Strangely it's got no sound and it's normally of poor quality. Problem is I can't seem to exit it to see whats going on with the burn or anything else, have a missed a short cut somewhere?

They're both really annoying problems, please help.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I don't understand what you are doing. Are you burning a data DVD, music or video? "Burning a DVD" is not very informative. What program in EMC 9 are you using?

Please give some details!

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you. In the meantime my system completely crashed requiring a partial recovery which just lead to an enormous amount of new problems, hence I've been rather busy trying to fix things. In answer to your questions, I'm burning tv shows recorded with Media Centre. I been using MyDVD. The original problems I wrote about I did resolve, but I'm afraid that after trying so many things I've lost track of what actually worked. And anyway, 2 problems seem to have now been replaced with new ones, strange dubbing issues. In desperation I've decided to following the clean uninstall and re-install from the 'tips & tricks' section, and start from scratch, fingers crossed.

How did you repair the crash? If you did an install of Windows over the existing one, you may have brought problems along

Far better (as Bruce would say) to Format C: and install everything cleanly
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed
