I have two disappointing occurrences now that I have gone to Toast 9 that didn't seem to occur on Toast 8. I'm using 9.02 on a Macbook Pro with Leopard.

--When I right click a folder or file, I used to be able to select "Toast It" and it Toast would gloriously open up in "Data: Mac & PC"mode. Now it opens up in "Copy: Disc Copy" and complains that there is nothing to copy. Any way to get it to launch in Data mode?

--I now get bad sector failures when attempting to burn to CD-R. Only once in recent weeks can I recall successfully burning a CD. DVD's and DL DVD's burn just fine. Why?

Thanks.

Same problem for me with Toast It. Go to the Toast Help menu and choose the Provide Feedback link to notify Roxio that you want this fixed.

I don't know why you are having errors when burning CD-Rs. Have you tried burning at a slower than Best speed?
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!

I did some tests and it looks like Toast would automatically go to the last function you used when you choose Toast It.

I was just going to add the same thing.  If you open Toast and select the Mac and PC format, then close Toast, this will work the way you want.  I'll see about having it changed so that it always uses a particular format.

So the CD burning issue is unique to me?

I will try the advice on closing the program but I think I tried it already. Thanks for the replies.

I wouldn't say unique.  If you just open Toast and select the format you want and then close it again, this is the format Toast should use for the "Toast it" function. We'll look into making it a little more user friendly in the future though.
