My new laptop is running Windows XP Pro, with Windows Media player. My Cineplayer 2.3 works just fine when my laptop is plugged in but, on battery power, I have no video. I tried installing the latest windows media player but then couldn't get a DVD to run at all. Went back to restore point. I've searched everywhere and any way I can think of.Advice?
Try your Power Options in control panel, sounds like your on some power saving setting on battery power.

Tried every single power option available from my control panel. Also went into Nvidia control panel and switched off power miser. Same deal-- Audio only on battery; perfect audio and video on AC power. This is a strange one!
You may be better checking with the makers of the laptop - as CD says, it sounds as if there is something that stops you using video playback on battery power
