Hi there,
I've just updated to OS X.4.11 and my Lacie external CD/DVD burner is no longer visible to Toast. I've checked System Profiler, and the drive definitely still exists and is recognised by the computer. I've also repaired permissions. Any idea how I can get my external drive back?

That's odd. A couple things to try:
1) Trash the Toast plist and prefs files in your User Library and relaunch Toast.
2) Download and apply Apple's 10.4.11 combined system update. There sometimes are odd problems with Firewire and USB after an incremental system update that are fixed when applying the combined update.
