HI!

I run Vista SP1 64-bits.

I've just uninstalled EMC 10.

I still have these 3 messages in Event viewer:

Event ID: 7026 The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: RxFilter

Event ID: 3004 Windows is unable to verify the image integrity of the file \Device\HarddiskVolume1\Windows\System32\drivers\RxFilter.sys because file hash could not be found on the system. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source.

Is there a way to remove these 3 messages in Event viewer ?

I would like to remove RxFilter but I don't find it in System configuration (Services or Startup).
Where is it ?

Thanks a lot!

In Vista32 [the one that works] I found RxFilter.sys in \Windows\system32\drivers, and RxFilterDll.dll in \Program Files\Roxio\Retrieve 10

You could find the registry entry which loads them by searching on the filenames within the registry, but I don't think removal would necessarily solve your problem. This seems to be a difficulty with Vista-64.

When I was installing Roxio 10 yesterday on MY 64 bit vista machine, I kept getting an unsigned driver error with reguards to this module the RXfilter. SO Iam assuming it is a driver issue with roxio. Iam not getting any load up error's though as The module didn't install. the EMC module was an issue for me as well as getting to the registration page on initially launch to register. Had to Tab key to see
anything on the registration Page. You would have thought they would have fixed that issue by now since it was a problem with V9 & WS monitors but I guess not.

My Mistake Was Getting Vista 64!

You Would Think That I Wouldn't Be So Dumb As To Do That!

Thank you for your post! I have just wasted two days trying to fix problems with my EMC 10 installation on a Vista x64 machine. Did the clean install procedure for Vista and re-installed downloaded update files. Had the same results as my initial install from the disk in the box. After launch, I get the window inviting me to register my software. It lists the advantages of registration, but shows me nothing else. The fields to enter my email address and other information are not visible. No scroll bar, no continue button, nothing else visible. After finding your post I found that all I had to do was use the tab key to move down to the data entry fields. Very frustrating!

sad.gif Maybe I am missing something in this thread - but is there a solve for the Rxfilter issue in Vista 64? I have a clean install (no previous version) on Vista64 and downloaded latest version from Roxio. I also registered the product on install and have the same issues as others - Rxfile & harddrive1 issues in the events folder. Suggestion: if there is a ticket open with Support - why not post that number and others (like me) can simply add too it? That way, Roxio might have a better understanding of the impact? Here is my ticket: 609570

Hi. With reference to event 7026. What I did was take a copy of RxFilter.sys from C:\Windows\SysWOW64\drivers then pasted it into C:\Windows\System32\drivers. This error no longer appears.

Testing Windows 7 RC x64, Roxio Creator 2009.

SysWOW64 is a folder ib C:\Windows on W7 machines

Dug - forget testing 2009 in Windows 7. It's BEEN done and is NOT compatible. Trust me on that issue
