I got burned last year when I bought EMC 9 as an upgrade for EMC 7 (been an EMC 7 user for years, obviously). I tried to edit and add to projects created in EMC 7 on EMC 9 and after MUCH frustration and farm language, I discovered that the two programs don't work together.

I know there is a technical term for what I mean, but I can't remember what it is. Backward Compatible?

What I want to know is whether or not I understood correctly when I heard that beginning with EMC 10, I'll be able to edit and work with EMC 10 projects with future upgrades... EMC 11 or whatever may come.

Is the rumor true? I want to upgrade my EMC, but I'd like to be able to add to projects in the future with the upgraded software.

Am I making any sense?

Thanks, if anyone can shed some light.

Backward compatibility would be a wonderful thing for them to start building into this software. It's not uncommon with the opposition.

I blame it all on Global Warming / Global Cooling / Global Staying the Same [pick one]

Roxio EMC 10 is the third time I got burned. With 7 and 7.5 both they said they didn't work because of internet explorer' updates. EMC 10 deluxe suite does nothing at all but they have a update for it but you have to uninstall the one you bought and download it off the net. the one you download off the net, partly works. You can't do any of the projects, you can play with movies and work on doing it just right, but you have to save it every 2 to 5 minutes because it will close at anytime, and all your work is lost. Then when you got it finally done. It want burn your DVD.
You can record off of old records through. The music disc creator does not work, if you try to get to it, it makes your hole pc blink off and on like crazy. The only way to to stop it is unplug your pc, they is no way you can shut the pc down. Don't buy.

You are replying to a year old thread rolleyes.gif

Freida, I haven't a clue what you are trying to say blink.gif

It sounds like you have major problems with your system if you have to save every few minutes and your "hole pc blinks off and on like crazy". Emc 10 work just fine for most people.

BTW, what's a "hole PC"?
