I too have had multiple issues when installing EMC9 with Vista. The first issue was actually a Microsoft VB Script error. I was getting an internal 2738 error. The fix was to run - regsvr32 vbscript.dll- from the windows\system32 directory. Once that was accomp[lished EMC9 went through its installation without showing any more signs of problems. However once the installation and reboot procedures were completed and I tried to run any of the programs I now get "Certificate missing" reinstall. Uninstalling and reinstalling EMC9 did no good, and I was unable to find any information that was worthwhile to this problem through RoxAnn. They talk about certificates not initializing. I checked threough that procedure and found that I had no security branch in the registry. I currently have a ticket open with support, but thought I would check here to see if anyone has a clue as to what might be going on here. Thanks in advance for you input.

I have had the very same problems. All Roxio applications dealing with video don't work. I get "unable loads skin" or "runtime errors with C++" I have called the support people seral times and all they can suggest is do a clean uninstall and reinstall. I've done that 3 or 4 times cleaned out regestry and all directories all dll files.
I have a brand new Compaq SR2180NX Came with 1GB and on onboard video (Intel GMA950, ASUS 5PLP-LE)
I upgraded with 3 GB menory GeForce 7600 GS video card still same problems.
It did come with Vista Home premium and EMC 9 basic preinstalled.
Anybody heard from GrampaBruce on these problems? The support help said to look for advise from him.
Help!!!

After spending time with Roxio support They had me do a xompletely clean install. This worked all programs are now functioning the way they are supposed to. However I am still a very unhappy camper. This is version 9 if this program. And yes I am using Vista. However Roxio should have installation procedure down by this time. They had me go into the registry. I have 25 years in the PC business so this was not a vey big deal as far as I was concerned however I do not believe new user or those with not a lot of experience should be playing around in the registry. I am very disappointed with Roxio. The last I attempted to use their software was way back when XP came, and my experieince was no better then than it has been this time. Since getting refunds on software is not one of the easiest things in the world to do I won't bother and I will use this software as long as it truly does what I need it to do, however I will never upgrade ir spend another dime with company. They do not seem to have their customers in mind when they program. I have never seen so many problems with an installation of a 9th version of a program. The problem with the trial version, the problems with the drag to disc whuich is an unnecssary program in the first place. This is very disapponiting for a company such as Roxio. They have lost me as a customer or as anyone who would recommend their software. It just won't happen.

I found a solution though. Try uninstalling Drag to Disk using the control panel/programs/unistall the do a repair of EMC9 unsing the conrol panel/proreams repair. Now all is fine no more loding skin or runtime errors.
Still the help hesk should have known and jerked me around
Hope this helps.

I see that installation issues are a common feature of this forum...That can't be a good testimony for Roxio's (supposed) compatibility with Vista...
In my case, I am encountering issues right from the start. On the face of it. the software installed without a problem, but when first executed, I got a string of "Network error while attempting to read from F:\b0452.msi" for RecordNow, EasyArchive, etc. although the disk was in the F drive. After skipping through all those error
messages, the following programs are not working:
VideoWave
Capture video
Plug & Burn
Quick DVD
MyDVD
Photo Suite
all showing all kinds of crazy errors ranging from <<Error:Unable to load skin>>, C++ runtime library errors,
pure virtual function calls to <<skin image "MenuSeparator.png" error>>....
I've uninstalled (clean uninstalled, as per instructions in this forum) and reinstalled the software 2 times, but to no avail....What a load of crap this software is....
I wanted to give it one more try before returning it to the vendor and thought of asking for help from this knowledgeable forum. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks,
