I'm not yet familiar enough with video capture, editing, and burning to even be considered a newbie. I am less than a newbie. I guess that just makes me a "bie". If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

The Project:

1 movie (a piano concert) (avi format)
approximately 56 minutes long
Imported: no problem
Changed Menu Style to Leaves: no problem
Deleted menu audio: no problem
Set Chapters: 20 no problem

The quandry: I assumed that the chapters would automatically trigger the chapter list menu page but it didn't. Also, the chapters are not listed in the project view tree.

I'm sure that my pea sized cranial contents has left something very simple, yet major, out.

Please help!!

Thank you in advance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just to review:
Open MyDVD and load your project
You should have one button.
RIGHT mouse click on it and seelct 'EDIT CHAPTERS'
At the bottom of that dialog box, there is a check mark to create the submenus. It should be checked be default. Check it if it isn't.

I did as you suggested with hope abounding. The screen is exactly like your illustration with one small difference - the checkbox on my screen says "Update chapter menu(s)" instead of "generate chapter menu(s) and link to selected button". I unchecked the box to see if there was a drop down menu with the other selection but there was none. I sure with I had chapter menus to update!!!! I'm not opposed to starting this project from scratch if I need to (I've already done that several times already.) I may not be technically savvy but I am persistent.

Thanks for your help!!!

I wish not I with - - - sorry for the typo.

CHECK that box if you want the submenu page. Which version do you have? If you have MyDVD Essentials, this feature may function differently. I haven't seen the Essentials version.

The plot thickens. Now there is no button to select or unselect. Disappeared! Poof! Gone! Hoo Hoo!! Some learn best by making mistakes I guess (that would be ME). I refuse to become discouraged!

mmm.. odd. Have you updated your video card drivers and DirectX? Strange display problems like that can usually be fixed with that.

:) I just wanted to thank you for your help (I know that I am late in my thanks.) I started the project over from the beginning and was successful. Your guidance was invaluable.

Thanks Again!!!!

Is there a way to go back in and edit the chapter start times for each of
the menu's created? I'd like to change the start points for a chapter I created and can't
figure out how to edit. (ie, I've crated a bunch of chapters that I wanted to arrange
on a menu, and now I want to set the specific start points on each).

Thanks, Carl

Please start new topics for future posts.

Just load your MyDVD project. Right click on the thumbnail that has the submenu and 'edit chapters'. Add a new chapter where you want and delete the one you don't want. If the new chapter is close to the old one, you will get a dialog box asking to delete the old one.
