Just converted .avi into .vob files using visualhub but didn't author them, I was hoping toast would be able to compress them, is that possible? I dragged the files in and it can burn them, but they come to 7.8 gigs or something and I need it on dvd-r . .

thanks

Toast and Popcorn can only compress from a complete, authored VIDEO_TS folder. Toast reads the IFO file to recognize what's present. I suggest opening your VOBs in MPEG Streamclip and choosing convert to MPEG to save them as an MPEG file. Then have Toast author that to a disc image and lastly use the Image File setting in the Copy window to compress the content of the disc image to fit a single-layer disc.
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!
