I have recently started using Roxio EMC 9.0. I had some success with MyDVD when it comes to burning. However, recently, I installed a new product that has to do with Video Editing. Ever since then when I go to open a video file through Roxio EMC 9.0/MyDVD it shows a red circle with a / through it. Any suggestions? I don't see how the video editing software would have screwed up the compatibility of Roxio with my system.

Are you using the same software as before, because your codecs are the wrong ones.
